The Road Less Taken -- To Kilimanjaro and Beyond

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

- Robert Frost from
"The Road Less Traveled"

I left for Africa on June 23, 2000, and on June 30, 2000 I reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  I jogged 3-5 miles per day, 5 days a week -- I also lifted weights 2 days a week -- in preparation for the climb.

My trip to Africa and my quest to climb Mount Kilimanjaro was a success [see Climbing Kilimanjaro on the following pages for more details on the trip].  Although I no longer have the task of climbing Kilimanjaro to prepare for physically, I continue with my jogging and weight lifting routine to stay healthy and strong.

CLIMBING KILIMANJARO

Beyond Kilimanjaro—I am planning a trip to India in 2001 and eventually to trek in the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal.   Because of all the positive responses I have received to this web page, I’ve begun work on a book about my weight loss and life experiences, including my Kilimanjaro climb, to help inspire and encourage others to live life to the fullest.  After that—who knows?
